FAQ__Henna Tattoo

  • Q: What is Henna?
A: Henna is a small flowering shrub that has many uses. The fragrant flowers are used to create perfume, and the dried leaves turned into a fine powder that's used for hair treatment and temporarily dying the skin -- hence henna tattooing. The henna plant has even been known to treat skin conditions.

  • Q: Can I touch the tattoo after applying it?
A: Don't touch the tattoo directly after it's applied. Henna paste is moist when applied. After application, you need to keep that body part away from any obstructions—clothing, hair, environmental factors—so that it doesn't smear the design. The paste usually dries within 5-10 minutes, but err on the side of caution. It will take approximately half an hour before the henna paste is dry enough that you don't have to worry about smudging it.

  • Q: How long I should keep the henna paste on my skin?
A: Leave the henna paste on your skin for as long as possible. At least for 6-8hours. The longer the paste stays on the skin, the darker the stain will be. Let the paste dry on your skin for at least 6 hours, and consider leaving it on overnight. Don't wash it off; don't rub it off; don't accidentally brush it against anything.

  • Q: How long does it take to get a henna tattoo?
A: Most designs can be done within an hour, but it depends on the design. Please let me know if you have a time frame you'd like me to stick to!

  • Q: I have a special day/event coming. What's the best time I should get the tattoo done?
A: If you have a special event coming, I'll strongly recommend you to get the tattoo done 2days before. Because henna takes 24-48hours to gain its original gorgeous dark-brown colour.

  • Q: How long does a henna tattoo last?
A: It depends on a few factors like skin type, body part and lifestyle(if you use harsh-soap on that part of the body very often, then the tattoo will not stay for long). But in general, the tattoo will last somewhere between 2-4 weeks. It depends on you how well you take care of it to make it last longer.

  • Q: Should I come to you, or do you come to me?
    A: Either way!
I can go to your place, or, you can come to my home(please message me for address) to have me do your tattoo here, and of course you are welcome to bring along a family/friend.
In general, week days between 1PM-4:30PM work best for me. But, I can do my best to work around your schedule too, with evenings or weekends as well.

  • Q: I don't know what design I want! Can you help?
A: Of course! I have put together some great designs and you can pick the one which is just perfect for you!

  • Q: I don't see my question answered here.
A: Please message me for any questions.
